@terrellstaten Congrats! I’ve been a vegetarian for about 9 years. Alicia gives some great background and tips in her book on how to have a healthy and delicious veggie diet. I’d also highly recommend vegweb.com and VegNews for excellent info, recipes and community. ~ Melissa

  8. I just bought this book and am starting to read it. It looks great! I have been wanting to go completely raw vegan and need to organized myself better. I’m thinking I’ll go with The Kind Diet first and move into the raw lifestyle slowly. Pretty sure I can add raw food now and then. Thanks

It’s a great book – filled with lots of useful info on health, nutrition and the meat industry. And the recipes are inspiring – my favorite is one of the simplest – steamed collards with garlic, pine nuts, raisins and balsamic vinegar. Delicious! ~ Melissa
